The Amherst Fire Chief’s Association recently elected their 2009 Officers Thomas Merrill Chief of the Snyder Fire Department was elected as President, Michael Parker Chief of the Ellicott Creek Fire Company to serve as Vice President and John Buttino Chief of The Eggertsville Hose Company was elected as Secretary/Treasurer. The Amherst Fire Chief’s Association founded in 1958 as a forum for the leaders of Amherst’s 10 volunteer fire companies to discuss fire safety practices and prevention methods with hopes of reducing loss and preserving the area’s assets. Currently several projects under discussion include training, communications and Emergency Medical Services.
